What does it mean to be a Jesus Christ follower, not just a Christian?

November Targeted Devotional Prayers

Fill this fall with words of encouragement, faith, and hope.

NOVEMBER 25-DECEMBER 1 ~ Thanksgiving Week

Lord, we are thankful. We choose to live each day with gratitude and the action of thanksgiving in our heart. Our thankfulness is not tied to an event or circumstance, it is tied to our faith in you. Thankfulness produces in us a hope; a joyful anticipation of you and your goodness breaking through in our lives.

We have a testimony of your faithfulness and goodness to us. We are aware and appreciative of your many benefits. You turn the ashes of difficult situations into beautiful opportunities for our good. Today and everyday we ponder in our hearts the promises you have made us, the ones that have come true and the ones you are still crafting on our behalf.

We choose to give thanks today and every day. Amen.

NOVEMBER 18-24 ~ Cultivating Our Hearts

We rejoice in you always. We cultivate a lifestyle of turning our heart towards you in all our life circumstances and declare that we trust you. We choose to engage with you from a place of rejoicing trust.

You, Lord, are the One who goes before us. You are with us. You will not leave or forsake us, therefore we do not fear and we are not dismayed. In whatever we face, You have already gone before us and deposited what we will need. You work all things together for our good as we become more like you.

There is zero performance in being loved by you. You are the initiator and we have the joy of responding to your great love for us. Thank you for flooding our hearts with ignited passion for you. Amen.

November 11-17 ~The Lord, Our Helper

Lord, our help comes from you and you alone. You guard and guide us, never letting us stumble or fall. You are our keeper and you never forget or ignore us. You are always watching over us, protecting us day and night, always at our side to shelter us in your presence.

You are our protector, our watchman and our keeper because we are your treasure. You do not slumber or sleep, you do not lose interest in us. You never grow weary but stick close and keep watch over us because we are your treasure. We are the joy set before you that allowed you to endure the cross.

You have created a place for us in your heart and in your affection where we have the privilege to simply abide. You do not shield us from life, but you promise the waters will not drown us and the fires will not scorch us because we belong to you. Thank you for loving us and caring for us the way you do. Thank you for treasuring us. Amen.

November 4-10 ~ Jesus Peace

Jesus, your shalom abides in us and crushes the spirit of chaos. We cherish your gift of perfect peace that fills us with courage and allows us to hear and receive from Holy Spirit.

In moments of distress you teach us how to access the deep well of your spirit. You train us to draw close to you in moments of chaos and allow your peace to empower us and strip away anxious negative thoughts. Your peace lifts us to a place the enemy can't reach. Our lives would be chaotic without your peace. We are so grateful.

Thank you Jesus, for being our Prince of Peace.

October 28-November 3 ~ Through the Valley

We ask as we sense weapons of the enemy aimed at us, you would rise up in our spirit and remind us no weapon formed against us can ever prosper. Help us stand up on the inside and resist the enemy at every point in our life.

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for teaching us how to abide in Jesus. Abiding in that place of His rest is what expedites our transformation. We choose to practice putting our soul under our spirit by choosing to surrender to you in every circumstance.

Your peace, rest and stillness cause us to be calm in the midst of our storms, allowing us to release that calm into our external environment and circumstances. We choose to be diligent and intentionally practice turning away from external pressures and instead yield and surrender to you, the One who will never fail us, not even once. Thank you for the opportunities to choose to grow in you.

Amen
