The Practice of Rest Part 1-Devotionals April 25-May 1

Lord, I thank you that the very first thing You introduced into our relationship was the capacity to be at rest. You created rest to reside inside of us. It’s a place that You are calling us to abide, to remain, to stay and to live in.

As we choose rest, and surrender ourselves to You, rest begins to displace everything that resists it. What a magnificent gift you have given us!

Thank you for the promise that when we are still, we get to experience You in deeper ways. We get to know You. Lord, when You are present, nothing else matters. So, we surrender to You, our very being and enter into Your rest. Amen.

“WAIT” DEVOTIONS BY CHAD ANDREWS & GARY HOPKINS : April 18-24, 2022

Lord, I know your goal for me is to live in Your glory. Help me to have only one target: to behold Jesus, and trust Him to clothe me in glory.

Waiting upon you, Lord, is all about turning my heart of affection towards You and releasing adoration, praise, thanksgiving and worship to the One who has my heart. Thank you, that in the place of waiting, joy rises up, strength is renewed, cares drift away, peace overwhelms and your refreshing sweet fragrance overtakes me.

Thank you that I now rest in Your promises and presence instead of worry and fear. Rest has come in the waiting. You are near. Selah.

EASTER WEEK DEVOTIONS: IT’S ALL ABOUT LOVE - April 11-17, 2022

Jesus, Lead me to the truth of love so that the very core of my identity, everything I value, is that I know that I am the one you love. I don’t comprehend it, but I know it.

Because I know you, I know love. Everything about the Cross and the Resurrection is about love. Now the cross makes perfect sense. Thank you.

Your cross is the greatest act of love. Thank you. No greater love can anyone have, then to choose to lay down their life, for their friend. And that is what you, Jesus, did for me.

You were willing to sacrifice yourself for me, so that I could know of love worth everything. Love explains everything. God, You never had any intention except for love. It would be madness to run from You to search for love.

Thank you, because when I found You, I found love.

PEACE DEVOTIONALS - April 4-10, 2022

As we sit with You, we encounter incredible peace as our heartbeat slows to match Yours. Today we choose to embrace peace, pursue rest and enjoy being patient. We invite Your peace to rule in our heart. We submit our soul, our emotions, our feelings, and our reactions to current events, to Your spirit living inside of us.

You offer a resting place for us in Your luxurious love as You lead us to an oasis of peace beside still and restful waters. We turn our heart of affection toward You and lay down in Your sweet, tender embrace. As we lay in Your embrace You restore us completely as our spirit, soul and body is filled with Your peace and sustenance.

Lord, even when Your path takes us through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer, for You already have! You remain close to us and lead us through to the other side. Your authority is our strength and peace. The comfort of Your love takes away our fear. We will never be lonely, for You are near to us. Amen

HOPE DEVOTIONALS - March 28-April 3, 2022

We declare that we trust You in this situation that feels void of hope right now. We put all our trust and hope in You, because we know Lord that You release hope to those who need hope. You usher us through times of sorrow and trouble through the doorway of Hope. It is Your hope that causes us to move in the opposite spirit of what circumstances are trying to tell us. Your Hope keeps Your promises alive in our hearts.

In You we find strength and comfort as You empower us to seize an unshakeable hope. This faith and hope is a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to You. When we anchor and submit our mind to You, we end up with faith and a renewed mind. We live with an excited anticipation of You showing up in our circumstances. It is not a question of “if” but a joyful excitement of “how” and “when.”
