What does it mean to be a Jesus Christ follower, not just a Christian?

May Targeted Devotional Prayers

Let our devotionals help stir peace and joy within you this month!

Drawing Near Devotionals: Part 2 - May 23-29, 2022

We come and rest at Your feet Jesus. We accept Your invitation to abide in celebration with You. We invite Your laughter to come and minister to us like a medicine. Laughing with You heals our heart. We invite the oil of Your Spirit to wash over us. You are turning our mourning into dancing and exchanging our sadness for the fullness of joy.

We recognize that our joy and rejoicing are not tied to events and circumstances but to You, the One who has walked this earth with more joy than anyone. We experience deep wells of joy when we encounter You. We embrace Holy Spirit’s quest to restore the merry joy and cheerfulness of our salvation. We don’t have to wait for joy and happiness, it is our inheritance now. So Lord, anoint us with happiness and joy.

Drawing Near Devotionals: Part 1 - May 16-22, 2022

Your name oh Lord is our strong tower. We run into it and are safe. We abide in You, our refuge, during difficult circumstances, knowing that we will encounter You. When we turn to You, we are washed by Your grace that fills us with endurance to live in faith, hope and trust.

We choose to wait upon You, the One who renews our strength. We make a conscious choice to quiet the external pressures and background noise of our life as we step into Your presence. When the wind is howling, that is the perfect time to choose rest. As we practice turning our heart of affection to You, peace is established in deeper levels within us.

We choose to direct our will towards trusting You. In moments of difficulty we praise You with adoration and trust. We worship You out of our testimony of who You are to us. We choose to remain in life-union with You Jesus through thanksgiving and adoration.

ENCOURAGEMENT DEVOTIONS - May 9-15, 2022

Father, we pray that ugly or hateful words would never come from our mouth. Instead, let our words be beautiful gifts that encourage others. May our mouths be filled with words of grace to lift others up.

We ask for a Barnabas anointing. Let us be known as a people of encouragement. We want people to feel loved and valued when they’re around us. Help us to be active listeners, fully present in the moment with anyone in front of us. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear how You want to show Your love to those around us.

May we offer fresh words that communicate grace and build others up when they need it the most. We are committed to speaking encouraging and hope filled words that inspire and keep people moving forward. Give us a plan, strategy and desire to edify those around us. We choose to be intentional about speaking kind, gentle, encouraging words that shower others with Your love.

The Practice of Rest Part 2 - Devotionals May 2-8

Lord, we submit our soul, our emotions, our feelings, our ‘how-is-this-affecting-me’ to our spirit.

As we submit to you, peace, rest and stillness is rising up. You are releasing rest through Your breath, through Your touch, through Your voice, through Your Presence. As You release rest in tangible ways, we get to experience it in all areas of our lives.

Thank you that rest is our weapon, where we can put to death anxiety, fear, stress, doubt, and worry.

Thank You for freedom to choose. Thank You for not only the ability to choose but thank You for rest, and the ability to partner with the Holy Spirit in rest.

Today, we choose rest!
