October Targeted Devotional Prayers

Lord, I choose joy. I agree with what Paul encourages me to do in Philippians 4, to rejoice!  As I rejoice, pick me up and carry me into the presence of my beloved Jesus, the one who lives in joy. Let the fullness of his joy soak and saturate every part of my being. 

In that place of your presence Lord, release your peace to empower me to live a life untroubled and restful. Your peace allows no fear, but only refreshing.  I am choosing to abide in your peace. Amen.

Holy Spirit, thank you that in this opposition that I am facing I am going to discover an aspect of the nature of God that I never could outside of this circumstance. As I turn, surrender and yield to you, I ask that you reveal the goodness of God in ways I have never experienced, and the shalom of God in ways that I have never encountered. 

The one who was anointed with joy lives inside of me, and I pray that everything that I am facing today causes me to experience joy, a mirth, that causes strength to rise up inside of me. Let this opposition cause me to increase substantially in joy. Thank you Lord, amen.

Thank you for always being in my midst. Always. And for rejoicing over me with joy and happiness that gives me the sense of being well. As you rejoice over me with your song, you immediately put to death all that internal turmoil going on in our head. All the ‘what-if’s’, all the doubts and fears are quieted, as you rejoice over me with singing. 

Help me Holy Spirit, to experience your gladness. I thank you that you are taking me into new territory. It does cause me some anxiety and worry, but I choose to put all my trust in you and say yes, take me, I am ready.

Lord, I declare that in every circumstance of life, I will choose to not magnify anything that is seeking to rob me of peace, joy, or hope, but I will choose to magnify you. Because I know that when I magnify you, I give you a place of focused invasion, and you will invade with courage, peace, hope and power, and deliver me from all my fears. 

I am choosing to step away from my external issues and abide in you, in this seat of courage, strength and power. Because it is in this place where I, because of the power of the Holy Spirit, can be strong and very courageous. 

Thank you Lord, amen.

Lord I chose right now to turn my heart of affections towards you and I pray you flood me with Your presence. Let your peace rise up within me, and be all over and around me. Holy Spirit, hide me in the shadow of the embrace of Jesus. It is my desire to live so close to you I can feel your breath and hear the beat of your heart. I want to live so intimately with you, that I am the one whom you share the secrets of his heart with. In this place I discover how protected my soul is. Thank You Lord, Amen
