August Targeted Devotional Prayers

Thank you for this season that I’m in and the character and strength You are developing in me. I choose perseverance. Show me how to partner with You to defeat the giant facing me today. Let me see my world from Your perspective so I see beyond the natural and turn my fear into strong faith. Increase my discernment so I will have an accurate understanding of what is really happening. As I see with Your perspective, intimidation loses its hold on me. You have already won the war. I celebrate Your victory in every area of my life. Raise up a warfare spirit in me, oh God. Make me conscious of the authority You’ve given to me that I may fight everything that comes from the enemy in the spirit realm. I am one who will stand in courage and fight all deception, fear and intimidation. 

I submit to You, the keeper of my soul. I lay my life down, it is all Yours. I submit every single area of my life to you. I choose to live deeply in the kingdom of peace, rest, stillness, and power. I abide in the secret place of shelter, towards the external conflict, and watch all those dark areas flee. I know You are good, You are always for me and I completely trust You. You are much bigger and greater than any giant I will ever face. I magnify You above all else. Amen

Heavenly Father, Your word is full of light, is life giving and contains Your promises for us every day. You know the plans You have for us, plans to prosper us and not harm us, to give us hope and a future. We choose to trust in You with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding; in all our ways we acknowledge You and You will guide our path. Thank you that as Your children, we are carriers of Your light and Your grace. May we shine every day of our lives wherever You have us. 

Heavenly Father, thank you for Your gift of each new day and the promise and hope that it brings. Lord, bless us and keep us, make Your face shine upon us, be gracious to us and give us peace. Thank you for having a good plan for our lives. You fill our mouth with laughter and our lips with shouts of joy. Thank you that Your light shines in every dark situation in our lives and will overcome every obstacle in our path. 

Jesus, You are our light in this world. You promise that as we follow you, we will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. You hold our world in Your hands and there are no better hands for our world to be in than Yours. You stepped out of darkness to give us an abundant life filled with Your light and blessings. Before we call, You answer us, while we are still speaking, You hear us. We thank you that You are the one holding our hand through every day of our lives and that You are shattering all fear and darkness in our path. Thank you that we can rest in the deep assurance that in knowing You, we have everything. In Jesus name, Amen.
