What does it mean to be a Jesus Christ follower, not just a Christian?

August Targeted Devotional Prayers

We hope these prayers refresh your spirit.

Worship Musings Devotions: August 30-September 5, 2021

Worshipping You is our priority. As we worship You, we become like You, we grow in favor with You, we begin to think like You, see like You, hear like You and love like You.

We worship You in truth, with no hidden agendas, laying ourselves out before you, all the good, bad and ugly. We worship You in Spirit, partnering with Holy Spirit, the great worship director, who carries us into Your cloud-filled presence.

We lift up our heads and choose to rejoice in You no matter our current circumstances because You are always Good and You are worthy. We refuse to reduce our life with You to our emotions. May our disappointments, discouragement, and times of mystery be like an incense that ignites the fire of our heart to release the fragrance of praise and worship before You.

Worship and Warfare Devotions: August 23-29, 2021

Every warfare event in our lives is an opportunity to discover more of Your nature and power. We choose to respond by using everything opposing us as a vehicle to abide in our spirit. We choose to first submit to You, and then to resist.

In the midst of opposition we look for One thing, You Jesus. We want to know Your perspective and receive Your strategy on how to move forward. We turn towards You so the Holy Spirit can produce whatever fruit our spirit needs in these moments. When You remind us to be courageous and to not be afraid, Your words carry with them the ability to fulfill Your word. We turn away from every external assault and turn towards that internal castle of Your presence inside of us.

Isaiah 55 - Abundant Living Devotions: August 16-22, 2021

Jesus, You came to give us a life of abundant, overflowing fullness. You invite us to come to Your refreshing waters and drink deeply. We respond to the drawing and romancing of Holy Spirit who carries us into refreshing encounters with You. We gladly give all of us to gain all of you. We lay down our lives so you can fill us to overflowing with Your abundant, radical, over-the-top-life. You came to give us a life of joy, expressed in laughter, a place of deep contentment, peace and strength.

The food we hunger for is released when You speak. All that we long for is satisfied when You speak to us. We listen carefully and incline our ears to You. We position ourselves to hear the secrets of Your heart as we gladly accept Your invitation to deeper intimacy with You.

Full Surrender Devotions by Tim Dickerson: August 9-15, 2021

Our greatest calling is to know You so intimately that every moment is centered in You. We are not satisfied with living for ourselves. We are lifetime learners committed to becoming more like You. We invite You to uncover any area where pride is hiding and keeping us from fully experiencing freedom in You.

When we surrender our lives to You, our focus shifts from doing to being, hearing and obeying. Faith is the result of our abandonment and surrender to You.

We belong to You, we are Yours, we give You our lives. You mean everything to us. We so desire Your will and not our own. You know us better than we know ourselves. We trust You. Lord, every good and perfect thing comes from You. We want Your desires to be our desires. Our greatest success is to live a life fully surrendered to You.

Face of God Devotions: August 2-8, 2021

When You say, Seek My face, our hearts respond, Your face Lord, we will seek. Be merciful to us, restore us and cause Your face to shine upon us and we shall be saved. Blessing, restoration, grace, salvation and strength flow from our face to face encounters with You. It is Your face Lord that we seek.

In beholding Your face, we are transformed into Your image from glory to glory. As we behold Your beauty, compassion, faithfulness, goodness, love, kindness and mercy, we become saturated and soaked in Your love and our psyche, our soul is radically transformed. The outpouring of Your spirit holds an invitation for face to face encounters with You and we respond with Yes Lord, it is Your face that we seek.
