Caring for Your Soul Devotions Part 1: September 27-October 3, 2021
In Your presence is fullness of Joy. Joy is who you are, so joy is something we can always expect to be present, regardless of our circumstances. Your joy is always readily available to be our strength. We rejoice that right now, You get to be someone for us that You couldn’t be at any other time.
In all our interactions with You, we will touch peace and be embraced by it because You are the God of peace. Your peace removes our tiredness, it refreshes and empowers us. We find refreshment and rest in You Jesus. You are teaching us to access the deep well of Your Spirit. We are learning how to behold You and how to step into deeper levels of the Shalom You have for us. The only thing we have to do is turn our heart towards You and allow You to overwhelm us.
The Practice of Rest Devotions: September 20-26, 2021
The very first thing You introduced into Your relationship with man was rest. Because we are Your child, we have full access to rest as our birthright. You have seated us to rest in heaven places. We invite Your peace to rule in our heart. You speak to us in a still, quiet voice as You teach us to respond to You in stillness and in quiet rest. We submit our soul, our emotions, our feelings, and our reactions to current events, to Your spirit living inside of us.
We choose to be still and know that You are our God. As we choose stillness in You, rest becomes a discipline that will eventually become habitual. In the place of rest, we draw near to You Jesus and You draw near to us. Your presence fills us with shalom. When we experience Your presence, nothing else matters.
What if? Devotions: September 13-19, 2021
What if the warfare in our life right now is providing an opportunity to see who You want to be for us at this moment; a piece of Your nature and character that we would never experience outside of these circumstances? We press into this opportunity to know You better.
What if the rocking and rolling is about us learning how to quiet all the noise, get into a place of peace, rest and stillness, and know You intimately? We silence our soul and press our ear to Your heartbeat as You invite us to see from Your perspective.
What if these difficult circumstances are all geared toward knowing You through intimate, experiential encounters? Holy Spirit we invite You to break out and lead us through experiential encounters in Your presence.
My Secret Hiding Place Devotions: September 6-12, 2021
Lord, You are our secret hiding place, protecting us from trouble, surrounding us with songs of gladness. Your joyous shouts of rescue release our breakthrough. In the midst of opposition we quiet all external noise, take a deep, cleansing breath and turn our heart of affection towards You by simply speaking Jesus.
When our external world is reeling, You sing songs over us in the internal castle of Your presence inside of us. Your song quiets the internal turmoil in our head. All the what-ifs, doubts and fears are quieted as You rejoice over us with singing.
We pause in Your presence. We hear You say, “I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway of your life. I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with My eyes as your guide.” We will not make it difficult for You Jesus. We will not be stubborn when You take us where we’ve not been before. We readily choose to come with You!
Worship Musings Devotions: August 30-September 5, 2021
Worshipping You is our priority. As we worship You, we become like You, we grow in favor with You, we begin to think like You, see like You, hear like You and love like You.
We worship You in truth, with no hidden agendas, laying ourselves out before you, all the good, bad and ugly. We worship You in Spirit, partnering with Holy Spirit, the great worship director, who carries us into Your cloud-filled presence.
We lift up our heads and choose to rejoice in You no matter our current circumstances because You are always Good and You are worthy. We refuse to reduce our life with You to our emotions. May our disappointments, discouragement, and times of mystery be like an incense that ignites the fire of our heart to release the fragrance of praise and worship before You.
