What does it mean to be a Jesus Christ follower, not just a Christian?

October Targeted Devotional Prayers

We hope you enjoy this month's targeted prayers!

Delighting Yourself in the Lord Devotions: October 25-31, 2021

We never tire of delighting ourselves in You. Every day we choose to turn our heart of affections towards You Jesus and experience Your wonderful presence. As we sit with You, we encounter incredible peace as our heartbeat slows to match Yours. Today we choose to embrace peace, pursue rest and enjoy being patient.

Your manifest presence comes through us into every opposition we face as we faithfully stand in the heat of opposition and are simply occupied by You. In Your presence, we are able to lay aside the weight of all those things opposing us; all the things warring for the attention of our mind fall off as we are overwhelmed with a consciousness of You. When You are present, nothing else is. You set a table before us in the castle of our heart. We choose to live there, abide there and remain there.

Our Anchor Devotions: October 18-24, 2021

We are anchored in You. With all these winds of adversity blowing around us, attempting to get us off course or distract us from our journey, we anchor ourselves to You Jesus. You keep us on-course. We run into Your heart and hide ourselves in Your faithfulness. In You we find strength and comfort as You empower us to seize an unshakeable hope. This faith and hope is a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to You. When we anchor and submit our mind to You, we end up with faith and a renewed mind. We live with an excited anticipation of You showing up in our circumstances. It is not a question of “if” but a joyful excitement of “how” and “when.”

Yet I will Devotions: October 11-17, 2021

Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, though the labor of the olive may fall and the fields yield no food. Though the flock may be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls. Yet we will rejoice in You Lord. We will joy in the God of our salvation. We choose to live in our testimony of who You are to us. We choose to live with a heart of thanksgiving and gratitude.

Caring for Your Soul Devotions Part 2: October 4-10, 2021

We find refreshment and rest in You. Your rest is a weapon that destroys everything negative. Your confidence makes things easy for us. We take Your yoke upon our heart and mind. We accept partnership with You so we can see and think like You do.

We choose to delight in You. We turn our heart towards You Jesus and abide in the atmosphere of Heaven where we are overwhelmed with Your delight in us. We choose to give thanks in everything. Rejoicing is what keeps us constantly refreshed and well-oiled in the Holy Spirit. Rejoicing makes Your presence tangibly near. Rejoicing reduces anxiety to nothing and empowers our prayers as it creates peace in our heart. May our default to everything that happens in our life be to rejoice and give thanks.

Caring for Your Soul Devotions Part 1: September 27-October 3, 2021

In Your presence is fullness of Joy. Joy is who you are, so joy is something we can always expect to be present, regardless of our circumstances. Your joy is always readily available to be our strength. We rejoice that right now, You get to be someone for us that You couldn’t be at any other time.

In all our interactions with You, we will touch peace and be embraced by it because You are the God of peace. Your peace removes our tiredness, it refreshes and empowers us. We find refreshment and rest in You Jesus. You are teaching us to access the deep well of Your Spirit. We are learning how to behold You and how to step into deeper levels of the Shalom You have for us. The only thing we have to do is turn our heart towards You and allow You to overwhelm us.
